EVERETT, WA – Veterans are invited to share their stories of service, bravery, and sacrifice. Veterans' remembrances will be recorded at the Everett Public Library and preserved for future generations at the Library of Congress through the Veterans History Project.

Experts from the Library of Congress will be in Everett on Monday, Aug. 19, to collect local veterans' memories.  Anyone can add to the historical record during this one-day program by volunteering to interview veterans. All interviews will take place at the Everett Public Library, located at 2702 Hoyt Ave., between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Veterans and volunteer interviewers are asked to register for an appointment online at or by phone at 202-707-1819. Community volunteers will receive a free training on how to record interviews with veterans.

The Veterans History Project is an ongoing effort to collect and preserve firsthand stories of wartime service. The Veterans History Project contains over 60,000 contributions from United States military veterans who served from World War I through the present.
