Time for a real “hoot.”

Pacific Northwest musical duo Hank & Claire rekindle the art of community singing in a free program at 2 pm on Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Everett Public Library, located at 2702 Hoyt Avenue in Everett.

Hank & Claire share their love of live music-making and folk songs, complete with back stories and all the chorus words. They will share songs that you may already love, like "Freight Train" and "Last Thing on My Mind," plus some from today’s creative folkies. Raise your voices with your neighbors in celebration of life, love, rivers, trains, and who knows what else? Come prepared to sing!

Hank & Claire have performed together since 2008. Both flat-pick guitars, and Favro also plays bowed psaltery and mountain dulcimer. The duo’s combined repertoire includes original songs, traditional folk, and tunes from contemporary singer/songwriters. Their first album together, “Heart of the Matter” was released in late 2010, and their latest “Home at Last,” in 2014.
