Due to the public health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 outbreak, we cannot welcome you into the library at this time. However, we are happy to bring the library outside to you through a curbside pickup service.
What are the hours of Curbside Pickup?
Tuesday - Saturday: 10 am to 6 pm
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 10 am to 6 pm
How does Curbside Pickup work?
- Place holds/requests for library materials through your account at www.epls.org or by calling the Main Library at 425-257-8000 or the Evergreen Branch at 425-257-8250.
- You will be notified when your items are available to pick up. You will have 10 days to pick up your items.
- Arrive at the Library during curbside service hours. For the Main Library, call 425-257-7617. For the Evergreen Branch, call 425-257-8260. Library staff will check out materials to your account and deliver them to your vehicle.
Curbside service will be a socially distant, contactless service. In accordance with health and safety guidelines, customers are asked to remain in their vehicles. Staff will place items in the trunk or rear passenger window of your vehicle.
Library staff will wear a face covering and maintain at least six feet of distance from our customers. Due to the statewide mask order effective as of June 26, customers are required to wear masks or cloth face coverings while using this service.
What if I don’t have a car but I still want Curbside Pickup?
Please follow the same instructions as above for curbside pickup. Instead of placing items in your vehicle, library staff will place your items in a bag on the ground for you to pickup.
How do I ask a question about library materials or my account?
Library staff are available by phone to answer reference questions, recommend reading materials, and resolve account questions.

How do I return library materials?
Place the items in the book return slots near the front entrance of either the Main Library or Evergreen Branch.
The book drops will be open 24/7 for your convenience.
(We are no longer using the special drop off bins. Please return your materials using the book return slots.)
In accordance with State guidelines, library staff are not allowed to take returns from our borrowers directly. We strongly encourage you to wear a face covering when coming to the library to return your materials.
What if I no longer want to check out the items I have on hold?
Please call 425-257-8010 and ask to cancel your holds.
How are you making sure the library collections stay safe?
Local and state guidelines require that we quarantine all returned items before checking them in and placing them back in circulation. Expect your returned items to remain on your library account for at least 96 hours. Due to the quarantine requirements and limited access to portions of our collection, there may be a delay in making requested materials available to you.
What if I want to browse the shelves?
We are excited to announce that we are now offering a "Books for You" reader’s advisory service.
Choose a category that interests you and we will find 3-5 titles and put them on hold for you. Look at the categories and call us at 425-257-8000.
