Everett's 125th Anniversary
Everett turns 125 years old on May 4, 2018 and we want you to help us celebrate! The City and local partners will be hosting events throughout late spring and summer. Everett’s story is long and complex and not over by any means. We want to highlight the stories of the people who call Everett home. Whether you’ve been here for 100 years or 1, each individual, family, business, and organization is part of our story, and it’s truly a story worth telling.
Main Event
- Saturday, June 2, 2018, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Most of the event will take place outdoors so please dress accordingly.
Come celebrate and learn about the many departments that make your city work! We'll have:
- Family friendly activities
- Photo booths
- Face painting
- Historical tours—ride Everett Transit route 6 at 11 am or 11:35 am for a guided tour of the many layers of Everett history!
- Touch-a-truck area with exciting City vehicles!
- Adoptable animals (including kittens!)
- Crafts
- Food trucks
- Music
- And much more!

Tulalip Tribes: Telling Our Stories

Join us as a team of storytellers from the Tulalip Tribes share songs and stories to honor the native heritage of the land on which Everett was built.
Explore local history from the Snohomish and Tulalip Tribes perspectives and learn about their vibrant culture, history, and community.
This event is part of the City of Everett’s 125th anniversary celebration during the summer of 2018. Co-sponsored with Tulalip Tribes.
Everett's Boomtown Beginnings

- Main Library Auditorium (2702 Hoyt Ave)
Local historian Jack O’Donnell will bring Everett’s early years to life through photos and stories.
Learn about our boomtown beginnings in the 1890s, and the big businesses, churches, bars, and individuals responsible for developing our community. Discover which buildings remain from Everett’s earliest days and learn about the ones that no longer exist.
Everett Museum of History staff will also be present to showcase amazing artifacts dating back to Everett’s earliest days.

Imagining Everett’s Future

- Main Library Auditorium (2702 Hoyt Ave)
Join us in a celebration of Everett’s past, present, and future as we seal up our 2018 time capsule, to be opened in 50 years. The time capsule will include postcards featuring the stories, poems, art, and memories contributed by our community members all summer long.
What will the future of Everett hold? Everett Museum of History staff will share stories from Everett’s past about the many ways our community has imagined its future.

Time Capsule
Everett Public Library is creating a time capsule to celebrate Everett's 125th anniversary. You are invited to send a message to the future by sharing a story, poem, or drawing.
The time capsule program welcomes entries from children, young adults, and adults.
How to Participate
Tell us: What is your favorite place in Everett?
What do you think Everett will be like in 50 years?
The time capsule will be opened in 2068, Everett's 175th anniversary!
Return your entry to any Everett Public Library location. (Entries must be completed on official postcards, which will be available at both library locations beginning on Friday, May 4.)
Join us at a special celebration on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 2 pm in the Main Library. We'll seal up the time capsule and celebrate Everett's past, present, and future! (We must receive your completed entry by August 19, but you do not need to be present at the program for your entry to be included.)
